Phil Marleau

Mr. Marleau is the founder of IOU Financial and has served as Chief Executive Officer, President and Director since August 2006. Previously, Mr. Marleau was employed as a portfolio manager with Palos Management, a boutique investment management firm, and as a financial analyst in the equity research divisions of Merrill Lynch, Credit Suisse First Boston, and Scotia Capital. Mr. Marleau serves on several boards including Palos Capital Corporation. Mr. Marleau holds a Bachelor of Engineering (B.Eng.) with a Minor in Economics from McGill University and is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA).

David Kennedy joined IOU Financial in April 2016 as Chief Financial Officer and is responsible for all matters impacting the areas of finance, accounting, treasury and tax. Drawing on over 18 years of experience within financial services including the capital markets and insurance industries, David is considered a strategic financial operator and partner to the executive suite and board of directors.

David began his career at PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP where he provided advice to large multinationals and owner-managed companies on accounting and tax issues, financial presentations, audit and general business practices. David then became Chief Financial and Compliance Officer of Mirabaud Canada Inc., a full service broker/investment dealer with $1.2 billion of assets under management. Before joining IOU Financial, David was Executive Vice- President and Chief Financial Officer of Dale Parizeau Morris Mackenzie Inc. and Mass Insurance Brokers Limited, insurance brokerage firms with combined premiums of $375M.

David is a CPA, CA and a graduate of McGill University and earned a degree in Economics and Political Science from the University of Toronto.

Robert Gloer joined IOU Financial in December 2008, where he serves as President and Chief Operations Officer. Prior to IOU Financial, Mr. Gloer worked at First Franklin Financial Corporation, a subsidiary of Merrill Lynch, serving as Underwriting Manager, Operations Manager, VP Branch Manager, SVP East Region, and Director of East Coast, respectfully. Leading over 450 employees to the top of six regions, Mr. Gloer was responsible for the oversight of all sales and operations, as well as a $500m annual P&L. Prior to First Franklin, Mr. Gloer was SVP of Loan Administration for Credit Depot, where he was responsible for Investor Relations, Secondary Marketing, and Underwriting. Prior to this, Mr. Gloer worked for Equicredit Corp, a Nations Bank Company.

Joining IOU Financial in 2014 as the Vice President of Analytics, Luis Rocha is responsible for developing business intelligence and advanced analytics strategies that increase efficiency and mitigate risk.  Prior to joining IOU Financial, Mr. Rocha’s leadership delivered innovative, cost-effective scalable solutions to diverse commercial and government institutions in North America and Europe.  Mr. Rocha’s record of solid professional achievements is backed by a PMP (Project Management Professional) Credential (from the Project Management Institute) and a Ph.D. in Artificial Intelligence (from the University of Geneva, Switzerland), where he graduated Summa Cum Laude. In addition, Mr. Rocha holds an Advanced Business Analytics credential (from SAS Institute, USA).

Vice President of Operations

Madeline Wade has served as Vice President of Operations of IOU Financial since December 2008. From October 2005 to March 2008, Mrs. Wade worked for First Franklin Financial Corporation, a subsidiary of Merrill Lynch, serving in multiple positions including Automated Underwriting Trainer and Support, Level II Underwriter, and Loan Account Manager. From October 2002 to September 2005, she served as Deal Manager and Underwriter for Bayrock Corporation. She received her B.A. degree from LSU, and is a member of the American Business Women’s Association.

Jeff Turner

Vice President of Credit & Compliance

Jeff Turner has served as VP of Credit and Compliance at IOU Financial since September 2013. Prior to joining IOU Financial, he worked with First Franklin Financial Corporation, a subsidiary of Merrill Lynch, serving as VP and Branch Manager of the Charlotte wholesale division. Mr. Turner led over 60 employees to become one of the top performing branches out of 36, while being responsible for the oversight of all sales and operations and $100m in monthly production annual P&L. Prior to First Franklin, Mr. Turner was RVP of the Southeast for Credit Depot, where he was responsible for the region’s production and operations, covering five states. Mr. Turner began his lending career in the 1990’s, first as a Retail Loan Officer with UC Lending, then as a Branch Manager, running a top three performing branch out of 144 within the company. Mr. Turner received his B.A. degree from Lenoir-Rhyne University in 1982.

Mark Schrews joined IOU Financial as an Account Executive in 2011, and became Vice President of Wholesale Sales in June 2014. After serving five years in the U.S. Navy as a Nuclear Weapons Technician, Mr. Schrews spent six years at Metro Brokers. As a broker, Mr. Schrews funded $50m with an average loan size of $127k. In 2003, Mr. Schrews became Director of Sales at American Mortgage Express. From 2008 to 20011, Mr. Schrews served as Senior Mortgage Loan Originator.

Christophe Choquart

Christophe Choquart

Vice President of Business Development & Strategic Partnerships

Christophe Choquart joined IOU Financial in 2016 as the VP of Business Development and Strategic Partnerships. Drawing on 20 years of experience within the financial services industry including debt, capital markets and institutional equities, in the USA and Europe, Christophe is responsible for spearheading and managing a network of strategic partners. Christophe began his career at Credit Lyonnais Americas as credit analyst in leverage finance, senior debt lending. Christophe then moved to the equities side, initially as an analyst in European stocks at CL Asset Management (now Amundi), then as a fund manager. His last 15 years have been spent as equity sales and institutional account manager within large international banks including BNP Paribas, Lehman Brothers International and HSBC Bank plc. Christophe earned an MBA from the Kenan-Flagler Business School at UNC Chapel-Hill and received his Bachelor in Business from INSEEC (France) with a major in Marketing.

Jason Cawley is an investment professional. From 2012 to 2016, he served as a Senior Director in the Private Equity Group at PSP Investments, a Canadian pension fund based in Montreal. Prior to joining PSP, Mr. Cawley was a Director at Coady Diemar Partners, a New York investment bank focused on mergers and acquisitions. Previously, Mr. Cawley worked at DLJ Merchant Banking Partners and began his career in the investment banking division of Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette.

Mr. Cawley holds a BA magna cum laude from Middlebury College and an MBA from the TuckSchool of Business at Dartmouth.

Serguei Kouzmine has been President of IBS Development Corp., a strategic consulting firm based in Atlanta, Georgia, since 2008. From September 2012 to September 2013, Mr. Kouzmine was also President of the Russian Quantum Center, a scientific research organization based in Moscow, Russia. In 2012, Mr. Kouzmine also acted as advisor to Mechel OAO, a Russian mining and metals company. Prior to 2009, Mr. Kouzmine held executive positions at IBS Advance Corp., Invest-AG, LLC and Finstar Financial Group, LLC. Mr. Kouzmine has over 20 years of entrepreneurial experience. A nuclear physicist, Mr. Kouzmine holds a Master’s degree in Physics from Novosibirsk State University and a Ph.D. in Physics from the Institute of Nuclear Physics in Russia. He received an M.B.A. degree from the University of Chicago Business School.

Mr. Price has served as Director of IOU Financial since 2010. Mr. Price is currently the COO of B45 Inc., a leading manufacturer of wood baseball bats. He is also a co-owner of Auberge Saint-Antoine, voted one of the world‘s finest hotels. Previously, Mr. Price led several high technology companies (Domosys Corporation, SIM Composites, Plastic Knowledge). Prior to that, he worked in the forest industry for General Woods & Veneers (GWV) and Tecsult, both of Montreal. With GWV, he held various management positions in Bolivia and the DRC (ex-Zaire). Mr. Price is also Chairman of Le Musée du Fort, one of Quebec City’s most reputed private tourist attractions, founded in 1965. He is Chairman of the board of CO2 Solutions (TSX-V; symbol: CST-V), a leading provider of carbon capture technology, and a board member of Solifor, a limited partnership that is one of the largest owners of timberlands in Quebec, and Lyryx Learning, a private Calgary-based provider of online learning and assessment tools. He holds an MBA (Honours) from INSEAD in Fontainebleau, France, and a bachelor’s degree in forestry engineering from Laval University.

Yves Roy has been a board member of several companies and foundations since 2006. Mr. Roy is currently a director of Groupe LMT, Verlyx Pharma, Fondation du Musée des Beaux-Arts de Montréal, Fondation de l’institut de cardiologie de Montréal and Fondation Marie-Vincent. Mr. Roy was President and CEO, and then partner of SECOR between 2007 and 2012. Prior to this, he was CEO of Les Métaux Tremblay (Groupe LMT), and he held several executive positions at Mercer LLC for almost 25 years. Mr. Roy holds a Bachelor’s degree in actuarial science from Université Laval, a Master’s degree in risk and insurance from the University of Pennsylvania and a Ph.D. in managerial science and applied economics from Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
