Junior Data Analyst

Overview:

As a Data Analyst, your main responsibility will be to support the VP of Data Analytics in all data related projects across the company. As a part of the Risk Mitigation team, you will be tasked to analyze internal and external data sets to evaluate risks, loan performance, data correlations, trends, and patterns. Your expertise will be crucial in advising management and your work will enhance the analytical capabilities of the organization, enabling us to make informed decisions that create value. Your business intelligence skills will be a major part of your day-to-day work, as most projects will include different stakeholders in the company. You will need to effectively partner with all departments such as Underwriting, Finance, Accounting, Loss Mitigation and Software Engineering to make data-driven recommendations to improve overall company performance.

Responsibilities:

  • Determining customer needs and opportunities by performing data analytics through a combination of data mining, data modeling, data analysis, profitability analysis, and/or problem analysis.
  • Studying client behavior to scientifically predict outcomes to optimize the underwriting process while enabling the company to grow.
  • Developing, maintaining, and managing advanced reporting of analytics, dashboards, and other BI solutions.
  • Identifying and promoting new ways to release value from data.
  • Communicating findings to management, interpreting data into actionable business recommendations with the ability to explain the relevance and methodology.
  • Analyzing portfolio and loan performance for multiple stakeholders.
  • Reviewing and improving existing systems and collaborating with teams to integrate new systems.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree (or pursuing) preferred with some experience.
  • 2+ years of data and strategic analytics experience with proven ability to make data-driven recommendations.
  • Strong team player; able to work effectively within a team and more broadly with people from a variety of backgrounds and areas across the organization.
  • Results-driven, has superior analytical and problem-solving skills, and a strong attention to detail.
  • Working knowledge of SQL and Tableau.
  • Experience in developing, maintaining, and managing Tableau-driven dashboards and analytics.
  • Base knowledge of statistics.
  • Experience in the Fintech lending space is a plus.
  • Programming/Software experience with SQL, Python, and Tableau is a plus.
  • Techniques: A/B Testing, Statistical Modeling, Exploratory Analysis, Data Visualization, Time Series Analysis, Business Decision Modeling, and Test Control framework are a plus.
